Jazz vocal powerhouse Delphine Cortez performs in Sunset Park from 5:30 pm- 7 pm. Bring your chairs, blankets, and coolers for an amazing experience! Make sure to stop by the Sunset Library patio for fun kids' craft activities, including making their own musical instruments. At 6 p.m., you are welcome to bring your little ones inside the library for a special Family storytime with a jazz theme.
Delphine Cortez began her career singing in top jazz clubs on Rush Street in Chicago. She carries on the tradition of the great ladies of jazz, such as Sarah Vaughan, Ella Fitzgerald, and her musical idol, Nancy Wilson. Backed by pianist Joel Robin, with Tony Vacca on sax/flute and Cleve Huff on drums, this group offers a wide range of audience-friendly music including standards, bossa novas and popular songs, performed with polished arrangements that leave plenty of room for emotion and creativity.
This is part of the Jazz on the Move series, in partnership with the Chandler Jazz Festival and Chandler Special Events.
