Chandler Public Library welcomes local author Valerie Ipson as our Writer in Residence from February through April 2026.
During her time as a Writer in Residence, Valerie will offer 30-minute writing consultations to help aspiring authors fine-tune their work. All experience levels are welcome. (Limit one session per week)
Valerie Ipson is the author of several novels and children's books, including Ideal High (2015), Christmas Future (2018), After Bedtime (2021), Sweet Dreams, Princess (2021), and Baby Bear’s Turn (2023). From 2003 to 2019, she worked as a freelance writer for The Arizona Beehive, contributing human interest and genealogy articles. Valerie has significant teaching and presenting experience through writing conferences, workshops, and classroom settings. She has taught high school English and Creative Writing and regularly visits elementary schools to read and teach storytelling to young students.
